Before going into this experience, I wasn't very sure what I would see. I had done research on the issue of water pollution regarding the white river. However, when I actually got there and saw it for myself, I was shocked. It was way more than I could ever imagine. After only 2 hours of cleaning, we were able to fill 4 large trash bags.

After the experience, I now see how important it is that I take initiative and do my part in bringing awareness to this crisis. The problem is far worse than I could have ever predicted before volunteering. I will try my best to make a difference locally, in hopes of being involved in a greater global impact.
